Project Objectives

"Reimagine Nightlife in Dublin: Transform typically unused nighttime spaces (offices, arenas, universities, etc.) into vibrant, cultural venues that offer new ways for people to spend their evenings.

Offer Alternatives to Pub Culture: Provide young people with diverse, engaging nighttime activities beyond the pub, reducing reliance on alcohol as a social facilitator.

Foster Cultural Exchange and Inclusion: Celebrate and showcase the cultural richness of Ireland’s immigrant communities by hosting events that represent a variety of global traditions and art forms.

Combat Homesickness and Isolation: Create welcoming spaces that resonate with those who feel disconnected or homesick, especially migrants and international residents, encouraging a sense of belonging.

Support Accessibility and Flexibility: Schedule events during late-night hours on alternate weekends (Fri–Sun) to accommodate people who work during the day or irregular hours.

Revive and Repurpose Urban Spaces: Draw attention to the underuse of public and private spaces at night, advocating for their creative reuse as cultural hubs rather than leaving them idle.

Encourage Sustainable Social Habits: Promote mindful socialising and diverse experiences that balance entertainment with cultural enrichment and community-building."

Project Overview

Re: Éire is a nightlife initiative that reimagines Dublin’s after-hours by transforming usually closed spaces (such as offices, arenas, and universities) into venues for cultural events from around the world. Sparked by a sense of homesickness and the recent closure of cultural venues in the city, it offers an alternative to the dominant pub-centric nightlife. Celebrating Ireland’s rich cultural diversity, Re: Éire creates inclusive, late-night spaces for connection, creativity, and community — open every other weekend from Friday to Sunday.
